  • The very first step to becoming a semiconductor processor is to finish your education. You will need to get your high school diploma or your GED and then look into taking post high school classes.
  • A lot of semiconductor processors have gone to get an associate’s degree in manufacturing and microelectronics. In some job areas you may even need to get a bachelor’s degree and major in engineering or the physical sciences. As electronics in the plants continue to become more complex it will become even more important to stay current on technology.
  • Once you have landed the job you will have to go through the training programs that each company has for their new employees. The length of each training period varies from company to company. By the end of your training you will know how to operate the equipment needed to make and test each processing piece.
